Where to buy good food—that is the question
Before I moved from the SF Bay Area to San Diego last February, I knew at the top of my head where to shop for groceries and special food items. During grocery shopping, I had clear guidance on where to find these items.
For the first few months, it was somewhat challenging to figure out where to go to shop for food here in the Clairemont area of San Diego where I live. This made grocery shopping feel confusing at times.
National Grocery Stores
Fortunately, I discovered that some of my favorite national grocers are located reasonably close. These include Trader Joe's, Sprouts, Whole Foods, Costco, Aldi, Nijiya, and Marukai for grocery shopping.
In addition to shopping at these national grocery stores, I also check the grocery department at Target and find good deals on organic produce or frozen food.
Shopping Groceries on Amazon
Since the nearest Whole Foods Market is almost 8 miles away, I started buying some health food items online (as I did during the COVID days) at Amazon, and found reasonably priced Amazon-brand grocery items in the same-day-delivery section, including produce, meat & seafood, dairy & eggs, baked goods, deli & prepared, and pantry items .
Now I shop on Amazon for many grocery items as well and get them delivered (free if you spend over $25) to my house the same day or the next day.
Convenience and lower prices than most local grocery stores are hard to beat.
